VALENTINE'S DAY IS COMING.

Wondering what to get for your Significant Other for Valentine's Day?

HOLD UP. 
 
How about thinking about what YOU want for Valentine's Day? And then ASKING FOR IT!?!?
 
Yup.
 
Now that I'm well into my 40's I can honestly say that I've learned, even after a whopping 17.5 years of marriage, that he can't always read my mind! Even hinting might sometimes fall short.
 
Here's a rough telling of a recent two-part convo:
Him: “I'm going to Salt Lake City the week before Family Day.”
Me: “Oh, what day do you leave?”
Him: “February 13th - Monday."
Me: “So you'll be gone for Valentine's Day?”
Him: “Yah, I guess.”
Me: Pouts.
Him: Leaves room.
Me: Stews for the rest of the evening.
NEXT DAY.
Me: “Hey, remember when I mentioned I would love to have an Edible Arrangement arrive at my door as a surprise one day?”
Him: “Ummm. Sure?”
Me: “Well this Valentine's Day will be the perfect opportunity since you'll be away! I especially love the Chocolate-Covered Strawberries.”
Him: Opens ‘Reminder’ app on phone and walks away while tip-tapping on the screen.
 
Ok folks, so my theory that this is going to work is yet untested, and if it DOES work, the delivery won't necessarily be a huge ‘surprise’, but here's what I know: By asking for the arrangement, there's a solid chance I'll get it. If I hadn't asked, you know what chance I have at getting it? That's right, ZERO.
 
(I'll be sure to report back next week, after reminding him again this week.)

DISCLAIMER: My hubby's pretty good at this stuff and he probably would have arranged something for me for V-Day, but I sure have a hankering for those chocolate strawberries!
