A CREATIVE PROCESS
We'll meet ahead of the session to envision and plan. My team and I will guide you through styling and prep. I make you laugh and feel the love at your session. Then we come back into your home after the session to design your artwork and ensure the pieces you take away are perfect for your family.
Why do I do all of this? Two reasons:
1. You are busy. Let the professionals help!
Preparing for your photo session takes a bit of time and coordination. Do you hate the stress of leaving things to the last minute and trying to pull everything together when you are not certain of what you are doing? Me too. I am here to help – offering solid advice on how to style yourselves, and for those who want more help, online consultation all the way to personalized shopping dates with a professional wardrobe consultant. I’ll even arrange for my Hair and Makeup Artists to style you in your home before your session.
On the other side of your session, when your photo proofs are ready, I am not going to throw you an online gallery, tell you pick what you want, and give you an ominous deadline. I set a convenient evening date for your 'PREMIERE NIGHT" when I will visit you in your home, share your photos with you, guide you through the image selection process with my magical tried and true system, measure your walls, then design the Artwork that works perfectly in your space and complements your décor and style. I even have special software that lets us mock up your images on your walls so the guesswork is eliminated. Done and dusted in one evening!
To complete the process, my team members return to install your wall arrangements when they’re ready. Who doesn’t have a story of the framed prints that sat in the closet for 18 months before they finally got hung on the wall? There will be none of that.
2. Preparation REALLY makes for a better portrait result.
A portrait session is personal and intimate. Knowing you at least a little bit is essential to bringing out your best and capturing the emotions that tell your story. When we meet before the session, we will envision together the images you will love. We want your photos to represent you and your family – how can we create those images together when we’ve never even talked about it? Getting to you know you even just a little bit helps me to relate to you at the session. If I know a bit of something about the kids beforehand, they will be VERY impressed when I playfully relate it back to them during the session!
Plus, taking the time to plan and coordinate your ‘look’ goes a long way to ensuring your photos will look great on the walls of your home. I’ll be honest – us photographers want you to show up with awesome style and wardrobe choices because when you are comfortable and feeling dynamite in your clothes, you’ll rock the session and our job of making you look great gets a lot easier.
STEP BY STEP
We’re going to connect on the phone.
Just like I’m different than other photographers, your family is different than other families. Please tell me all about your unique family so we can determine what your unique Light + Laughter session will look like.
Making things official.
We’ll set a time, date and tentative location and make it official in the calendar. This involves an easy online agreement and payment of the Creative Fee.
You will receive Fun Love Photography's Welcome Package in the mail.
It will be the highlight of your mailbox on the day you receive it! The sparkly pink ribbon will blow you away.
We will already have started discussions on the phone about what your perfect photos might look like, but at this meeting we’ll delve deeper into your style and personalities, the envisioning of your photos, and what it means to get your heirloom artwork into your home.
There will be Light. There will be Laughter. I have great (really bad) jokes for all ages, even Dad. Prepare to have FUN, use energy and get closer closer closer. I’ll lightly pose you but will surprise and delight with capturing candids, connections and moments without you even knowing.
This is many of my clients’ favourite part. About 2 weeks after your session, I bring a slideshow of your photos, samples of my Artwork, and delicious desserts (!) into your home for an evening of guided image selection and Artwork design. It’s on this evening that you will choose what images and Artwork you would like to purchase. Special pricing for Artwork is available on this evening so most families choose to complete their order on Premiere Night.
Artwork delivery and installation.
A few weeks after Premiere Night, your beautiful Artwork will be delivered to you, and optionally, installed on your walls for you!
