What are YOU up to this weekend?
I have to admit, I have a love-hate relationship with weekends right now.
LOVE:
- I don’t have to get up early and fight the ‘get-to-school-on-time’ fight, which I usually fail.
- I get to spend time with the family.
- I get to eat sweets and drink wine (which I don’t do on weekdays).
- I don’t have to watch the clock.
- I get to wear comfy clothes all day if I want to!
HATE (well, hate is a strong word…but….):
- I don’t get much ‘me’ time.
- I feel overwhelmed by having to entertain the kids in order for them to not spend all the hours on screens.
- I don’t have a routine.
- I don’t go to the gym.
- I don’t get much time to work on my business and my craft.
- Our house feels small when all 4 of us are knocking around in it.
What do YOU love and hate about weekends?
THIS weekend has been a bonus weekend at the cottage due to strike-action by our school board teachers and the resulting closure of schools. We got an extra four-day weekend to be in our happy place. At the cottage, we have more space to find ‘me’ time, more opportunities to play together and enjoy each other’s company, more ways to move our bodies (I went for an EPIC snowshoe adventure today), and more leeway to do what we each like.
Where is YOUR happy place?
(Did you know I now offer family portrait sessions at your cottage? Serving Haliburton and Muskoka in the summer. These photo sessions are perfect for capturing those memories that mean SO much to you and your family - the good times roll on their own without effort you worrying about the what, where and how of a session.)
